Floe is yet another one of our does who was pretty at about a month of age, then gave me little ulcers with how she was developing as a yearling. I think the spouse got tired of hearing "UUUUHHHHGGG! Floe is SO AWKWARD!" because I said it so often. Luckily, he doesn't have to hear it anymore, because she freshened and has become lovely again. She's one of our more powerful does (fans of Nancy Drew would recognize her as a "traditionally built" girl), but leads the herd in the production index (she's at 126% of expected production for her age), and nothing seems to slow her down in the milk bucket. She is deep and wide, and has an udder that is wide and attached all over, with teats that are easily hand milked. Ideally, her rump could be a bit wider, and she could use a bit more dairy character, but I wouldn't change much else about this easy going, friendly girl.

Tahiti has the incredible general appearance we have come to expect from Cleveland Sage daughters, along with tons of dairy character, a wonderful escutcheon arch, very good capacity, and texture. We'd like to see her a bit tighter in the toes, and if we were being really picky, a bit sharper in the withers. In 2019, she kidded less than two weeks before our LA session, so was still putting herself back together, though by the time the National Show came around, she definitely was in full bloom, easily rising to the top of her class, and going on to win National Champion and National Best Udder. She has a very sweet disposition, and is so veeeery chill. Nothing surprises her. Well, except for that time that something (probably a racoon) bloodied her up overnight. She was a little shocky for a few days after that, but we were very relieved to see her get back to her old self relatively quickly, and that her production came back by a week or so later.

Bonnie was not a doe I was planning on keeping when she hit the ground as I had restricted myself to keeping "just" ten doe kids in 2015. However, when people came to pick out kids and would ask if she was available, I kept finding myself saying "I don't think so". And now that she's matured, I have to say I think that worked out well. She has one of the highest rear udders in the herd, with excellent texture, a strong medial, and very strong foreudder attachement. I really like how level and balanced this doe is and love her "look at me" attitude in the ring, which makes her a delight to show. She's a lovely addition to the herd with a quiet, sweet disposition that reminds me very much of her grandmother Tesla.

This golden girl came into the world just a week after one of my very favorite does of all time, Lunar Eclipse, went to sleep for the last time, and the name seemed like a good tribute to a doe who made me smile every day. This girl won't go in the holding stall at milking time until I pat her on the head and tell her she's a very pretty girl, which, as quirks in goats go, was a fun little routine, until a bunch of the other does caught on, and now also insist on hearing compliments before walking into the stall as well. She has strong scores in dairyness, a high rear udder, and a nice rounded escutcheon, allowing her to easily move around her udder. She's long bodied with good width and depth for her age, pictured here as a first freshener.

Night cap is a high headed doe, with nice general appearance, and seems to have a good deal of the same look-at-me attitude of her dam. She's well balanced and nicely blended doe, who is level on the move. Her udder is well attached, with a high rear udder, well defined medial, and nice placement of teats. She walks on strong pasterns, and is level on the move.
